  8.     Welcome to the world of MEDIEVAL WAR. This README.TXT file contains 
  9. information on copying and unzipping the MEDOOR files. I also contains an
  10. introduction to game play and information about registration. Additional 
  11. information regarding installation on a BBS system is contained in the 
  12. SYSOP.TXT file. Additional instructions are provided on-line.

  15. Installation
  16. ============

  18.     Installing Medieval War Door is extremely easy. 
  19.  
  20.     STEP #1: Make a MEDOOR sub-directory in your BBSs main directory 
  21.     (or wherever you would normally install BBS doors).
  22.         Ex: md c:\pcb\medoor
  23.  
  24.     STEP #2: Copy the MEDOOR.ZIP file into that sub-directory.
  25.         Ex: copy medoor.zip c:\pcb\medoor
  26.  
  27.     STEP #3: Change the directory to the MEDOOR sub-directory.
  28.         Ex: cd \pcb\medoor
  29.  
  30.     STEP #4: Unzip the MEDOOR.ZIP file.
  31.         Ex: pkunzip medoor.zip
  32.  
  33.     STEP #5: Delete the MEDOOR.ZIP file.
  34.         Ex: del medoor.zip
  35.  
  36.     STEP #6: Follow the directions in SYSOP.TXT to install MEDOOR so that
  37.     it will run on your BBS system properly.

  78. Playing the game
  79. ================
  80.  
  81.     MEDIEVAL WAR DOOR is played on a map of variable size depending on 
  82. the setup of the game. There are various islands throughout the map with 
  83. cities and mountains. You and your opponents start the game with one city 
  84. each and a number of pieces as determined by the setup of the game.
  85.     The object of the game is to build up your forces and capture cities
  86. until you are strong enough to attack the other players. To win the game you 
  87. must capture or destroy all of your opponent's cities and pieces until all of
  88. them are eliminated or surrender.
  89.     You begin the game with one city and a number of pieces determined by 
  90. the setup of the game. The current piece will be on a black square with the
  91. letter code of that piece in your color. To move, make sure that Num-Lock is
  92. on and press the number of the desired direction to move.
  93.     This is a brief introduction. To get more help about the rules of the 
  94. game use the extensive on-line help by pressing 'I' from the main menu.

  100.     MEDIEVAL WAR DOOR is a shareware program that has a 30 day evaluation 
  101. period after which a payment of $22 is required. As shareware, MEDIEVAL WAR 
  102. DOOR was distributed freely in order to allow people to "test drive" it. The 
  103. try-before-you-buy concept allows users to find out which programs are useful 
  104. before purchasing them. If a shareware program is useful or entertaining, 
  105. please support it through registration. The registration fee for MEDIEVAL WAR 
  106. DOOR is only $22 and entitles you to the newest registered version of the 
  107. program which allows up to 50 simultaneous games, a printed manual, customer 
  108. support (through the mail or on Compuserve, AOL, or the Internet), an account 
  109. on our BBS, and information (and discounts) on other offerings from Burnham
